Cruise liner Carnival Triumph, which, after a fire that occurred on its board on Sunday, lay down in the drift in the Gulf of Mexico, and is being towed by the United States and Mexico to the port of Mobile in Alabama. It is expected that the ship will arrive there on Thursday, RIA Novosti reported.
The Triumph liner, which has 3, 143 thousand passengers and 1, 086 thousand crew members, left Galveston port in Texas last Thursday and had to return there on Monday. However, during a cruise in the engine room of the ship, a fire occurred that caused the engine to be damaged due to which it is supplied with electricity by means of an emergency generator.
The passengers of the liner complain about the shortage of products, heat and technical malfunctions. So a few days on board the toilet did not function, and passengers had to use shower cabins and plastic bags instead. Fortunately, some booths were repaired on Monday, but large queues lined up immediately.
Carnival Cruises, the owner of the ship, promised to return the full cost of the cruise to passengers and to compensate for all expenses aboard the liner.
