The cable car in Yalta, connecting the Ai-Petri plateau and the Miskhor coast, was built for 20 years - from 1967 to 1987 year. That did not prevent her from getting into the Guinness Book of Records. The length of the year-round functioning ropeway is 2980 m. It includes only three stations - Miskhor, Sosnovy Bor and Ai-Petri, whose height above the sea level is 1152 m.

The Yalta cable car
Uniqueness rope way in the Crimea is that between the last two stations there are no supporting towers, the length of the span is 1670 m. The recorders have a record climb angle at the mountains - 46⁰.

Passengers can enjoy the most beautiful kinds of the Yalta mountain reserve within 15 minutes - just for such an interval to stall time is able to overcome the way from the first station to the last.

In addition to sightseeing load, the famous cable car is the only means of communication "continent" with the Ai-Petri Yayla in the winter months. The passenger road has an autonomous power station, so there is practically no disruption in its operation.

The most spectacular and impressive ascent of Ai-Petri 02 April 2014

At the tops of Ai-Petri, to crouch on the cable car, only so you can feel the greatness of these mountains. The lower station is located in Miskhor, where you can come from anywhere in the South Coast. There is a mass of minibuses. We arrived in Miskhor early, to still walk around the Miskhor Park - a very beautiful and well-groomed place. You can take a tour or use the cable car yourself, but in the second case you will have to stand a long queue, since there are plenty of people who want to. But the tour groups miss ... Feeling like flying on an airplane, but slow 08 November 2013

Our fascinating journey to Mount Ai-Petri began with a visit to Miskhor, where we left our car in the parking lot. We decided to divide our excursion and make it a double: to climb a mountain with an excursion group on a minibus, and return back to Miskhor by cable car.
We did not decide to climb on our car, because there the road is a "mother tongue", that is, it is extremely wobbly from side to side, dangerous and requires very high fuel consumption. And with the group was ... Read the whole review

I remember how scrupulously my friend and I, as students, put aside the last money for an excursion to Mount Ai-Petri. On the top of the mountain we went on a sightseeing bus, and descended already on one of the wonders of the Southern coast of Crimea, and the entire Crimean peninsula - on a cable car stretching from Miskhor almost to the very top of this mountain, the peak of which consists of several prongs.
Feelings of descent on the cable car can be partially compared with what each person experiences from a smooth drop in the aircraft. Especially, ... Read full review

Giving the greatest entertainment to the Crimean sight October 25, 2013

I personally consider the cableway to the Ai-Petri mountain the most interesting and spectacular landmark of the Crimean peninsula. Thanks to it, you will rise to a height of more than a kilometer above sea level in just a quarter of an hour and you will be able to observe it from the whole Southern coast of the Crimea. Such a high altitude observation deck is also in the Russian resort pearl of Sochi - Mount Akhun, but there is a smaller height, and there are not the brightest impressions that everyone gets while climbing in the booth along the Ai-Petrin cable car.

After the visit to Ai-Petri we fell in love with the mountains!
Before this trip to the Crimea it happened, but the mountains have never been seen in my life. And here, in the Crimea, the mountains were simply enchanted. So, we bought in Sevastopol a tour of Ai-Petri - the Vorontsov Palace - the beach. Impressions - there are a lot of minuses and pluses.
At once I did not like very much that in the palace we were very much driven, we were not allowed to take a walk normally, to take pictures of everything. Then we went to Ai-Petri. Since there was a high season - there are a lot of people. In the lift itself ... Read the whole review

Better mountains can only be mountains! October 22, 2013

Given what a coward I am, climbing Ai Petri was a real feat for me. Especially frightening was after the case when the cable car stopped for some time, and rescuers took pictures of tourists. I want to advise newcomers: if you plan to take a ride in the cable car in only one direction, you better go up the cable car, and go down by car, and not vice versa. This is cheaper and more picturesque. The first stage was quiet. The spirit grasped after being moved to another booth and started climbing to the very top .... Read full review
