One of the landmarks on the Yalta embankment is the Roffe Bath. This is a historical monument that appeared in the Crimea in 1897. The name of the baths gave the name of their founder, merchant A. I. Roffe. The building was previously part of the hotel complex "France."

Roffe's bathing suits are decorated with a ceremonial portal of white marble in Moorish style. On the facade, a quote from the Koran is carved: "Be blessed as water."

Yalta baths were a favorite vacation spot for the aristocracy, in baths with sea water, A. Chekhov, F. Shalyapin, I. Bunin were not lying. It is noteworthy that writers and scientists enjoyed pleasant discounts when visiting the institution.

Sophia Rotaru did not die in an amazing building in the Soviet years. Roffe's baths in the 1980s wanted to be demolished, but public reaction did not allow the irreparable to happen. The complete restoration of the architectural monument in Yalta was completed in 2000.

Once there rested great people, such as Chaliapin, Chekhov, Bunin. Now ... Read full review

Walking along the Yalta embankment, it's hard to pass by this place and do not stop. It is, of course, an attractive building with a white arched entrance, near the entrance to which stands the monument "Lady with a Dog", set here out of respect for Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, who loved to visit this place and wrote the same work. "The lady with the dog" even screened, and very qualitatively.
A great Russian classic did not just come to this house .... Read full review
