Having a rest in Crimea, be sure to take the time to visit the Nikitsky Botanical Garden. This world-famous scientific institution is located near Yalta and gives tourists unforgettable excursions. The garden consists of the upper and lower about parks where majestic cedars, cypresses, palms, figs, bamboos and many other trees grow. Once in the lower park of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, do not go past the round pool where magnificent lotuses grow.
You can enjoy the fragrance of flowering plantations at any time of the year. So, from the last ten days of March to the middle of May, gentle tulips are blossoming here. The Nikitsky Botanical Garden has been growing these flowers for more than half a century, and now the tulip collection of the establishment numbers more than 150 varieties. From the last decade of April until the end of May, beautiful irises are blossoming here (by the way, they are more than 130 varieties). The special pride of the garden is the scientific museum, where you can see the unique herbarium, which has - attention - almost 170 000 copies, as well as ornamental plants of the 19-20 centuries. Be sure to check out the greenhouse of the cacti of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden. For example, here there are Mexican cacti - long-livers, who turned 50 years old!
No less interesting will be in the garden of Paradise, which was established in 2009. During this time, more than five thousand plants were planted there, selected so that a beautiful bloom can be observed all year round in the garden. On the territory of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, along with souvenir shops, there are shops where you can buy seeds and seedlings of flowers, as well as a cafe to rest and snack after excursions. The Nikitsky Botanical Garden is open daily: 9:00 - 16:00 (November - April) and 9:00 - 18:00 (from May to October).
You can get to the Nikitsky Botanical Garden by buses 29 and 34, and also on trolley bus No. 2. These routes follow from public stops in Yalta: "Clothes market" and "Pionerskaya."
