The Church of St. Sergius - one of the rarest medieval buildings, preserved in the Crimea. This architectural decoration of Feodosia is called Surb Sargis Church

The Armenian church was built in the 14th century, but according to some information, construction existed in this part of the peninsula even before the Genoese arrived. That is, the monument appeared here in the 10th and 11th centuries

Surb Sargis was built in the traditions of Armenian churches. A simple building, in terms of which lies a rectangle, is made of limestone. It is crowned by a gable roof made of shingles.

In 1888 the Surb Sarkis temple was rebuilt due to a fire, funds for works were allocated by IK Aivazovsky. The artist-seascape was baptized in this church, and then the wedding with his wife. In its walls, the funeral of the creator passed. In the west direction from the building there is a crypt with the ashes of the famous Theodosius.

In the church of St. Sergius are kept khachkars, ancient stone slabs are decorated with crosses.

On the territory of the temple there is a bell tower decorated with ornament. Belfry was erected in the 15th century, it is more like an arbor. The temple itself is surrounded by an ancient cemetery, at which known residents of Feodosia have found shelter at different times.
