One century is performed by the Indian cinema industry, known worldwide as Bollywood. The Bombay film industry, which will celebrate its centenary at the 66th Cannes Film Festival as an "honorary participant", still feels young, even though in India itself many accuse her of insane expenditure amid the sad social realities in the country. Nevertheless, the celebration will be held on a grand scale, and the program of the festival, which will be held from 11 to 22 May, is scheduled for the four-series collection "Bombay Talkies" and the full-length "Bollywood, The Greatest Love Story EverTold" ("Bollywood - the very beautiful love story, ever ra said ") outside the competitive program. It is worth noting that the Bombay cinema industry has never been on such an upswing as today: over the last year about 1,500 films were shot, and in five years it will be estimated at 3, 6 billion dollars against today's 2 billion, according to experts.
