Entertainment, excursions and attractions Lubrassaka
Lubrassak stands on a rocky hill surrounded by open fields and thin woods. This is one of those rare places where a sensation of a different time and space awakens in a romantically tuned traveler. The atmosphere of Lubrassak reminds of amber: the time on its honey-colored streets arose somewhere in the Middle Ages
- Look at the Neolithic dolmen d'Orast near the village.
- Take a trip in Gram, look at the Old Town with the 16th-century clock tower and the main city attraction - the zoo where bisons, wolves and birds of prey live.
In the village there is a nice chateau but the 15-17 centuries of construction. It is located on the edge of a rocky ledge and looks very authentic, even if not completely finished. The castle in the Renaissance style belonged to the well-known aristocratic family of the Carolingian era - Castelnau de Bretenoua. Inside, a rich collection of sculptures, a grandiose staircase and Renaissance furniture of the 16th and 17th centuries were preserved, but, alas, it is quite difficult to examine all this to the general public.
The rather strong church-citadel of St. John the Baptist with thick walls was erected in the 12th century, and in the 16th century it was seriously rebuilt. In addition to the church, the fortified city gates and the guard house near them are of interest.
The rest of the attractions of Lubrassack are exclusively its streets and buildings. The houses here are built of a colorful uneven local stone of the color of light honey, traditional for the Dordogne. The reddish roofs are often bent by the corners slightly upwards and covered with antique tiles, and the facades are decorated with decorative balconies. The walls are fortified with ancient, but still functioning, half-timbered wooden beams.
Thanks to the location on the hill in the town there is a lot of sun .And the special charm of Lubrassac is in the types that open from here in all directions . On a clear day you will see from here the whole valley of the Dordogne, the Ser and Bav rivers and the many castles of the region, including Montal and Saint Laurent Les Tours . A in the evening, the scenery is animated by the illumination of the castle on the hill and the lights of the neighboring villages below. . Another important advantage in favor of Lubrassack: he is almost always away from popular routes . Finding here not even in low season, but at the beginning or end of high, to meet in the streets not a single tourist . And in general not a single living soul . There are plus or minus 500 people in the village, and even then not all of them are constantly .
The most luxurious hotel in Lubrassaca (3 stars) is La Relais de Castelnau. It is located in the heart of the city and boasts a gastronomic restaurant and a beautiful view of the valley. But the second (a little less luxurious), Lou Cantou, outside looks like an old castle. As for the restaurants, there is one more in the town, with grills and dansings, in the town.
Events of Lubrassak
Every small first fair of handicraft goods, flowers and farm products takes place every first Sunday in May. The next village holiday of the same kind falls on the second Sunday in July. The autumn farm market with a picnic and treats takes place on the second Thursday of August, and on the fourth Sunday of the same month, a "big" fair of antiques is held in the town.
