Panorama of Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt

In connection with the ongoing clashes between police and supporters of deposed President Muhammad Mursi, the Egyptian authorities decided to impose a curfew hours in twelve provinces. Among them, South Sinai entered, including the popular tourist resorts of Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab and Taba.

Yesterday alone, 278 people were killed in the riots throughout the country. And this is according to official data: "Muslim Brothers" claimed the death of at least two thousand of their supporters, according to which the police shot at the defeat. According to the rules of the curfew, people are not allowed to go out from 19:00 to 6:00 in the morning. This means that all tourists who have a rest at these resorts will not be able to leave the territory of their hotels in the evening.

Yesterday's clashes also affected Hurghada, but the wave of protests to the resort zone did not come. Nevertheless, Rosturizm intends to resume on site the work of the operational headquarters in order to protect Russian citizens from ill-considered attempts to "look at the revolution." Rospotrebnadzor also recalls that every Russian has the right to free evacuation provided by the current legislation.

In total, about 50 thousand Russians are vacationing in Egypt now. The demand for tours to the riot-ridden country has already fallen by 30%.
