Infrastructure
Saint-Gervais is a pretty alpine village clinging to the mountain slopes at an altitude of 850 m above sea level. After a busy day in Saint-Gervais, you can get your body stuck in hot springs or skate on the ice on the ice rink.
You can also go for a ride on the indoor skating rink, in the snow park (where, by the way, the best snowboarders from France and Europe train). Also in the town there are a lot of bars, nightclubs and restaurants, a cinema, a church of the 17th century, an old stone bridge, from which it's customary to throw coins and make wishes, and, of course, a huge amount of thermal springs
By the way, free, and therefore to some institutions will have to walk pretty well. However, there is a plus - some ski runs end just in the middle of the resort, and therefore you can get to ski almost anywhere.
- Well, of course, skiing. Try all kinds of snow fun: downhill skiing and snowboarding, measured ski walks along forest trails. Experienced athletes can try themselves in slalom and jumping from a springboard.
- Try medical baths! This is an excellent way to regain strength after a long ski trip in the fresh air. In the end, for good reason come here to be treated from all over the world.
- Discard the traditional chicken broth with noodles and local wine. This is a set - the traditional French dinner of a simple peasant. By the way, local residents assure that the chicken broth perfectly restores strength and helps to get rid of colds or a cold.
- Go through local boutiques. Do not forget that Saint-Gervais is not only a resort, but also one of the centers of French fashion and style. So why not take the opportunity and buy something for yourself?
Entertainment, excursions and attractions in Saint-Gervais
Saint-Gervais is most appreciated for its covetousness, good looks, calmness and regularity . No wonder - the resort is more than 200 years old, and it is clearly "aged" . For many decades, there has developed its own special culture of rest, which defines the entertainment of local tourists: in the morning skis and walks, at lunch - hiking in boutiques and shops, in the evening - playing bridge, roulette and poker in casinos or balls and official receptions (yes, as in the 19th century!) . This is the place where you can (by the way, the famous Rothschilds had their hand and wallet attached to the construction of the resort at the time) .
From the small town of Saint-Gervais (850 m), located close to the Geneva-Chamonix highway, you can climb the gondola in the area of Mont d'Arbois and, if snow cover allows, go back to skiing.
The top of Mount Mont Blanc, its western side, refers to Saint-Gervais, the Mont Blanc tramway connects Saint Gervais-les-Bains, Saint-Gervais-Mont-Blanc and Bellevue (Les Houches).
