Orlik can be called without exaggeration one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic. Agree, the title is worthy, considering that the castles in this country have almost ten points per square kilometer. And yet Orlik deserves it: located on a low graceful rock, which fearlessly crashed into the deep Vltava, it really looks like a scuffed and very picturesque eagle's nest. An amusing title, like many things in the Czech Republic, is explained by a romantic legend.
What to see
However this is all lyrics and tales, but there are in relation to Orlik and interesting real facts . For example, the word "nest" is applied to the castle not by chance: from the 19th century to this day he is considered the residence of the influential Czech family Schwarzenberg . His most brilliant representative is Charles I Schwarzenberg, more about the cat you want-you do not want it, but you'll find out from the museum collection of the castle . It displays honorary orders and awards of this nobleman who lived a bright and rich life .For example, the Order of the Golden Fleece, to which Charles I was awarded in 1809, acting as ambassador at the court of Tsar Alexander I . In addition, here you can see the Order of St. Stepan, ., one of the few surviving copies of the knight order Sv . @ Spirit, Russian order Sv . Yuri (received after the victory over Napoleon) and much more .
I must say, the unprepared tourist interiors of the aristocratic Orlik amaze. This is a knightly hall with traditional hunting trophies, and a room with a magnificent collection of weapons, and a family portrait gallery, and a luxurious library founded by the same Charles I, and the famous Teskov Hall, and even pardon, the family crypt in the park - all equally produces impression is noble
